a good hard look at it

'The strong live off the weak and the clever
live off the strong'
-Neil strauss in ' the game' paraphrasing boyd rice

this gave me one big punch in my mind reminding me of
the grim predator grazer relationships that are still around.
even better since it is so clearly seen in the tv show
why my vote matters, and the forums about whatsoever
has transpired in the short interview.
Not so much the part on decorum and all but more on the
exchanges and what could be the underlying reasons
behind such requests. especially about the old man
removing his presence from the scene completely and
why and when it should be done. in the case of how, however
is not as issue as life still goes on no matter the manner
of its execution.

it was implied during the interview that the puppet master
called the shots behind the scenes. it was also suggested
that his presence alone was a suit that discouraged any
from of opposition or dissent. coming up against such a
time tested and iconic figure surely presents too much of
a challenge even just to come out alive ( or at least not bankrupt)
[saying which it is a joke when a white man said that one
could likely say anything one wanted provided he had the
money to back him up. i digress, but surely this is not about
how much one can pay for what he says. and should he have
enough money does that mean all that he is saying are very
expensive words?)
following this, the rebuttal was if the speaker wanted to see
the old man not have a hand in the plans. the old man then
proceeded to say that he would not leave unless he could not
contribute anymore. suggesting an extended involvement
(please, long life and good health to him)
now, i have no issue with whatever opinion that was expressed.
said in his silence to one who holds the acsendency to finally
relenting that his removal was not likely a good thing.
however i would like to speak up on what could have possibly
transpired should he have continued his train of thought
or perhapes just what i would have like to see in the oh so
proper interview.

-yes sir. indeed i do. i would like to see you remove yourself
permanently from politics. i am most confident that indeed
you most definately can do things that no one else in singapore
can do. but sir because you are around, no one else in singapore
would probably try.

(and this is the tricky part) to convey to
the minister mentor how the next person should go about
trying to learn the ropes that can effect the things only
the mm can effect in singapore and no one else. irritatingly
the same sheltered attitudes have been brought into the
political arena as well. we will groom, we will select and we
will win with all the old guard to be there to ensure that no
mistakes will be made , make no mistake about it ;)

however if this is not the case, but the old gurad is waiting
for the right people to come along, challenge it and win to
ensure that the best singapore survives then the biggest
challenge that we as the future of singapore must face is the
one within ourselves. it is our fault then if not for the lack
of trying but for the lack of vision to win the hearts and minds
of the people to work with us for a better singapore tomorrow.

hence the why it is that MM should leave is that we need our
trial by fire. something to be answerable for, to be responsible
for, for a mistake that we may make and yet be proud that
this is our singapore. that we were not just spectators in
building it but its endearing imperfections are also of our
doing. our sense of ownership by having a hand in the blueprints
need to be satiated. we need to be validated that we have
a backbone and what we will embark on will cause those that
have walked before us to be proud of us. and in that aspect
as long as u sir the proud old man who is so idolised should
leave so we can carry on your fight and hope we make you proud.
and the when? that is a question that we the young must
deal with ourselves before posing that matter above.
it is when we are ready to rise to the challenge that we are better
that we can take the leadership that is rightfully ours
and go onward to the future of our own making.

are we made weak because of our strengths? the perfection,
order and 'love and care' of our elders.
are we the strong whose fate is to be used or surpassed by
the clever? the specialising of other countries for the money.
the economies of labour in huge countries. and the apathy
and empathy of our social well being that we forget to be
the hungry creatures that still need to seek food for survival
even today.

cheers to the coming election!
