the evaluation

alright so i'm finally gonna fill you in on the trip
weapons went a full day ahead of the other 3
platoons. so we were together with HQ. A good
thing it was since it meant we would also leave a
day earlier, but tt was to be appreciated later. we
also got to choose our beds first. the conditions weren't
too bad coz the fans were all working and the bed
i chose was still quite firm. the toilet was clean
and the was this big pool for us to shower from
the type where u get a scoop and scoop from the pool
to shower kind. reminded me of my childhood so
i was quite at home. it was right at the end of the cool
season and it was drizzling lightly as we came so it was
quite cool, however such weather was not to last and
we spent our remainding days with more warmth
then desired. the whole force came on tuesday just as
we were having our morning run. then the week went by
with mostly fatigue work and a commanders recce before
the evaluation started. i had one stomach upset which i
treated with charcoal and everything else was fine and dandy

Evaluation
it was five days of time wasting. though we did not get to
return to saiyok we did get to hang around in khaomeng
which was an even older, really beat up camp where only
the hardiest life forms would exist. the grass was brown and
the trees were bare and all the buildings were stripped to
their basic structure. but it was still better shade then an
open jeep or rover or whatever the bare trees could provide.
first day, rifle platoons were deployed with the pioneers
weapons just waited. jeeps and rovers were given to the
umpires so we could not mount and deploy. we wasted one
day just doing nothing. day 2 was almost the same. though
we caught our own scouts twice so that tells you that they
really weren't tactical enough. then at night was a big joke.
being new i couldnt recognise their block force and even
though i bumped into them neither of us engaged. man!
i missed the chance to eradicate one platoon to half a company!!
and when i returned to recontact they were gone. what a waste.
we harboured the night. my men got screwed by some high ranking
commander for sleeping on the job. right. i gave them permission
to sleep but i didnt expect them to be so totally knocked out.
especially when it was at my expense as i set myself as a listening
post nearer to enemy lines. but it was a small matter. so on the
third day i reinforced the objective and then mission 1 was over.
we packed up and deployed for mission 2. wasted the day and started
patrol at 10pm thailand time. within 1 hour. my convoy destroyed
13 vehicles. 5 mortar teams and 8 heavy machine guns. they
were too stunned when we jumped on them and took them out.
i established superiority of passage and the whole route was mine
for the night with no further enemy activity. in the morning i
reinforced the objective and that was the end of mission 2.
we left for khaomeng camp and started to prepare for our only
attack mission. it was funny. platoon 3 walked through a rubbish dump
one vehicle(belonging to a f*ed up commander) got stuck and
we took out their commanding officer and officer commanding.
it was a real joke. but that concluded day five. the mission and the
exercise. we were back in camp by 3pm and we started to
celebrate the comforts of camp.

alright post the RnR another time
